Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) inaugurated the Induction Training Programme for the newly recruited officers of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, Sri Lanka Accountants’ Service, and Sri Lanka Planning Service at the “Sanhinda” Auditorium on 01 July 2025. This important programme marks the start of a professional journey for 382 officers—comprising 155 from the Administrative Service, 121 from the Accountants’ Service, and 106 from the Planning Service—equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and values essential for effective public leadership and governance. The inauguration ceremony was attended by distinguished dignitaries including Mr. Aloka Bandara, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government; Mr. Prasanna Ginige, District Secretary of Colombo; Mrs. H.A.D.C. Jayasekara, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration; relevant service directors; and Mr. A.V. Janadara, Director General of SLIDA, along with Additional Director Generals and senior officials of SLIDA. Their presence emphasized the vital role of capacity building in nurturing competent leaders to drive Sri Lanka’s public sector forward.
